Draft deadlines

Dear BAPPers, Many thanks to those who are sending through drafts, now matter what stage they are in. Well done! A number are coming in and for those who I have spoken to, I am curious and excited to see what has developed since our conversations. Deadlines are coming up soon for you to send drafts, and allow some time to read any drafts which you may have or Skype to talk through your ideas, particularly for those who are in process of developing inquiry proposals. For Module 3s, you are at that stage of making your proposal inquiries take shape, critically reflect, collate data and analyse what you have found. I am looking forward to receiving those too. Any queries, please contact me to arrange a time to discuss. Many thanks, Hopal

Draft Reflective Essays Module 1

Dear BAPP students. I am posting a message to find out how is it going for your draft for Module One reflection? As the Handbook indicates the reflective essay is about thinking about your practice. Have a look at Advisor blog posts too. I will post a blog about reflective essays from me also, and it will be up soon, but in the meantime you can use the key words ‘Module One’ or ‘reflection’ or ‘YOU’ to sort through post to find ones specifically about the reflective essay. For those of you who have already submitted a draft essay, many thanks indeed. I am going through them all and will feedback in due course. Hope to talk to you in the next skype session too. Hopal

Checking in!

Dear fellow BAPP students, Many thanks to those who have reached out to me in the first instance. I apologise if I have been a little quiet in the virtual world. I can assure you that I have been taking time to read and reflect in preparation for queries and drafts which are due in shortly. Rest assured I will contact you all. Adesola has posted my contact and office days during this period of Helen's sick leave. I regularly check emails whilst doing my other engagements and if I am not able to respond straight away, please do not worry, I will. Many thanks for your patience in advance. Hopal

Introductions and Hello fellow BAPP students

Dear BAPP Students, It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you via this forum as an Advisor on your programme of study. My role is to work with, advise and support you with your studies during the short period of Helen’s absence. I am looking forward to making connections with you all. Undertaking a period of study as a former distance learner, I am aware of the challenges and great opportunities this programme offers, to connect with like-minded students who are engaging on a path of professional practice, debate, sharing insights and embodied knowledge. My interest in Higher Education focuses on professional development and practice from my lens as an artist as educator, and the journey it has led me to, today. Currently I work part time as a Lecturer in Dance Education at the Royal Academy of Dance. I am also a freelance practitioner and teacher of contemporary dance in a variety of dance settings. I look forward to our connections and discussions. Hopal
